About Global Health Nursing at St Luke's International University
Global health nursing refers to nursing that addresses global health issues and health problems that cannot be solved without collaborative efforts of multiple countries to maintain and improve the health of people around the world.
In order to conduct evidence-based research and activities, the Global Health Nursing Laboratory at St. Luke's International University focuses on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including maternal and child health, infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases, Universal Health Coverage (UHC): Universal Health Coverage, global mental health, nutrition, and global burden of disease (GBD).
Students also learn research methods such as systematic reviews, qualitative research, and quantitative research to clarify each student's research questions and improve their assignments. In the seminar, students hone their research skills and leadership techniques to contribute to global health issues through overseas fieldwork and internships. We train leaders in global health who will work in international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), government agencies such as the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and academic institutions such as universities and research institutes.
